President

Sofia Keldsen
“Hi, I’m Sofia, a Civil Engineering student at WSU. I’ve been actively involved with SWE since my freshman year, including shadowing our former president through the SWE Shadow program last spring. This year, I’ve served as Activities Coordinator, planning all general meetings and building strong connections with other student organizations. As I enter my final full year at WSU, I would be honored to continue serving this club as your president.”

Isabel Chavarin

“Hello, my name is Isabel, I am a junior chemical engineering major with a math minor. I have been a part of SWE since the spring of 2023 with the KSED committee chair then served as the social media chair for the 2023-2024 school year, and currently serving as SWE’s President. SWE’s president main role is EWI and since already holding the position I have a lot of improvements involving student and company engagement. I enjoy the extensive planning and professional aspect of EWI. I am passionate about creating a safe and uplifting community for women in the Voiland college; specifically in engineering. I want others to find the community and place within WSU like I have with SWE. As the club president, my goal is to continue to support, lead, and advocate for everyone in engineering regardless of their background.”

Vice President

Rylee Gannon
“I’ve planned KSED the past 2 years and we’ve seen lots of improvement each time. Let’s shoot for the third and final, best KSED yet!”

Secretary

Seo Young Baek

“I am currently shadowing the current secretary. I learned a lot from her and would be able to help out SWE. Although it is from high school, I have experience being in a leadership position. I get things done right and I will fit in the position.”

Jacqueline Taylor

“My name is Jacqueline and I’m a senior civil engineering major. I was the secretary last year and I am excited to run again! In addition to sending out the weekly newsletter, taking meeting notes, and sending out reminder emails, I did a lot of extra work for SWE to help our club in outreach and improve our structure. I’ve facilitated multiple amendments to our constitution to make position workloads more equal, written an officer guidebook, and created a LinkedIn group for SWE. I also had the opportunity to present about SWE to the VCEA junior faculty to encourage collaboration and support from the faculty for women in engineering.”

Treasurer

Haley Boileau

“As the current Treasurer of the Society of Women Engineers, I have successfully managed our budget, ensured financial transparency, and supported our chapter’s goals. Previously, as SWEster Coordinator during my sophomore year, I contributed to mentorship and community among our members. With my experience in both roles, I am committed to strengthening our organization through responsible financial supervision and meaningful member engagement. I would love the opportunity to continue serving SWE and expanding our impact.”

This year, I have gained valuable experience as an officer shadow and volunteer for SWE, as well as a member of other clubs such as ASME and EWB, all the while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in academics. My strengths in organization, creativity, and enthusiasm will help me bring exciting ideas and a sense of fun to our montly events. I am passionate about working with fellow SWE officers and members to create memorable experiences next year. I would be honored make our fabulous community even stronger.”

My experience includes managing shifts and training new employees as the New Employee Lead at Sprinklz Ice Cream Parlor where I developed my ability to lead teams in fast-paced environments. As a student counselor for AAUW Tech Trek I organized STEM activities for over 100 middle school girls, creating a supportive environment while ensuring smooth logistics. As Project Coordinator for the SWHS Interact Club I organized community service events in collaboration with local organizations like the Rotary Club. My role as Vice President and Co-Founder of the SWHS Model United Nations Club improved my public speaking and teamwork skills as I worked with diverse groups to address global challenges. Lastly, as a social media shadow I attended officer meetings, learned the ins-and-outs of SWE logistics in event planning while working with other shadows, and helped with large activities/events like KSED. These experiences have given me the skills and dedication I need to effectively coordinate and manage activities that promote engagement and growth in SWE.”

“I am running for SWEster coordinator because I am passionate about connecting newer, younger students with more experienced students to help them have the best experience possible, both in SWE and at WSU in general. This is my third year as a general member of SWE, and my second year as KSED Registration Committee Chair. I am also a bigger SWEster myself, and have had such a great experience with the program. GradSWE Chair

Suzanne Gelston

“SWE has been an amazing part of my undergraduate journey, and I want to continue to connect and support the SWE community. I was the SWEster Coordinator 2022-23 so I have experience working with SWE leadership. One of my favorite moments in SWE was when I was the outreach committee chair in 2021-22 and hosted a SWE lab tour for local girl scouts. I enjoy SWE’s mission and events and I’m excited to support the organization in the role of GradSWE chair.”
